Privacy policy

Beauty Tools Direct is operated by The Trustee for Extension Technology Trust (ACN 637 610 489). This policy explains what we collect when you visit or buy, why, and who we share it with.

What we collect

  • Order details: your name, email, phone number, delivery and billing address, and what you bought.
  • Payment: handled by Shopify and its payment partners. We never see or store your card number.
  • Browsing: pages viewed, the ad that brought you to the store, your IP address and browser details.

Why we use it

  • To take payment, deliver your order, send order and delivery emails, and handle returns.
  • To measure which ads work, so we can show relevant ads and stop the ones that do not.
  • To meet legal duties such as tax records.

Who we share it with

  • Shopify, which hosts this store, takes payment and sends order emails on our behalf.
  • Our fulfilment suppliers (such as CJ Dropshipping and AliExpress sellers), which receive your name, delivery address and phone number to send the parcel, and may process them outside Australia, including in China.
  • Meta (Facebook and Instagram) and, when we advertise there, TikTok: this store uses their pixels and conversion APIs, which send browsing and purchase events (with your email, phone and address in hashed form for purchases) so they can measure and improve our ads.

Cookies

Shopify sets the cookies the store needs to work (your cart, checkout and the country you shop from). The Meta and TikTok pixels set _fbp and _ttp, and a click on one of our ads is remembered for 90 days so the sale can be matched to the ad. You can block or clear cookies in your browser at any time.

Access and correction

You can ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing support@beautytoolsdirect.com. If you are unhappy with our answer you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
